On the 30th April 2008 Leith Planning Ltd (as an agent for Waystone Ltd) wrote to the Planning Inspectorate appealing the decision to turn down the application for the secure psychiatric unit in Barlborough (Letter from Planning Inspectorate). The case reference number for the Planning Inspectorate is APP/R1010/A/08/2074562. The start date for this appeal was the 21 May 2008. The appellants [Waystone Ltd] appeal form (including grounds for the appeal) can be viewed by clicking here (appellants appeal form). Bolsover District Council is currently processing the appeal documents.
There are a number of deadlines in the Appeal process which have to be rigidly adhered to. Leith Planning Ltd has requested that this be dealt with by Public Enquiry. The first deadline is the 2nd July. We have included the Planning Inspectorates Guide to Appeals . While the two main parties in the public enquiry will be Waystone Ltd (the appellant) and the Local Planning Authority (LPA)(Bolsover District Council), other organisations can apply for ‘third party’ status. This gives them the same input/importance as both the appellant and the LPA.
Barlborough Parish Council are registering for 'rule 6 status’ to represent the people of Barlborough and support Bolsover District Council in this important matter. Barlborough Parish Council is engaging Ken Burley (the Planning Consultant who has previously represented the Parish Council on this application) to submit a response to the Planning Inspectorate on behalf of the Barlborough community.
Ken has stressed that "At this point it really is ever so important that the community expresses its opposition in the strongest terms to The Planning Inspectorate (PINS) by the due date. In other words, to send in letters to PINS as before, expressing cogently why the community is so opposed to this proposal."
